Trailing 26-20 early in the third quarter, Polson recovered a Bigfork fumble on the Vikings' 34-yard line, giving them a chance to tie or take the lead. An intentional grounding call by referees ended the drive, and Bigfork pulled away for the 55-20 Northwestern A victory over the Pirates in Polson on Friday, Aug. 25.
Last weekend’s Libby Big Bucks Tournament brought the Mission Valley Mariners wins against Lockwood and North Idaho, and two losses to The Generals and Inland Empire.
This year, Polson made history by being the first-ever Pirate baseball team. They added to the history books on Saturday at 3 Legends Stadium in Butte, defeating Whitefish 10-4 in the inaugural Montana All-Class State Baseball Tournament Championship Game.
