Plans to bring in traffic lights as part of the Chippenham Station Hub scheme will cause hold ups it is feared. Wiltshire Council and the Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership are planning transport improvements around New Road and Station Hill in a £1.98m regeneration scheme. But the proposed changes, which will begin in January 2021, have been subject to local criticism. The planned works include the introduction of traffic light at the New Road and Station Road with a cycle lane, two toucan crossings on Marshfield Road and the introduction of no waiting time restrictions.
