A portion of the highway in southern Arizona was closed on Sunday as authorities tried to chase away a bear who climbed up two utility poles, according to a tweet from the Arizona Game and Fish Department in Tucson.
The bear risked electrocution by sitting on wires near the top of the utility poles along U.S. Highway 191, the department said. It s unclear where exactly the utility poles were located; however, a popular Facebook post says it was in Douglas.
The department also shared photos of the bear looking down at an audience of about two dozen people.
