St Barbara Ltd (ASX: SBM) could have a strong day after the gold price stormed higher. According to CNBC, the spot gold price is up 1.6% to US$1,764.70 an ounce. The precious metal was in demand with traders after bond yields retreated.
Bank of Queensland given buy rating
The
Bank of Queensland Limited (ASX: BOQ) share price is in the buy zone according to analysts at Goldman Sachs. The broker was pleased with its half year results on Thursday and responded by retaining its buy rating and lifting its price target to $9.83. Goldman believes that Bank of Queensland’s guidance for the full year is conservative and expects the bank to outperform it.

Good news for Fiji secondary school students, your Coca-Cola Games will be held on April 23-25, he final week of this term.
This was confirmed yesterday by Athletics Fiji president and Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics Association secretary Vuli Waqa.
He said the three-day competition would be hosted on the same month to continue the tradition of the games which was to be held on the final week of term one.
“We are grateful to the Ministry of Education and the minister for giving us this chance to host the competition again after receiving the approval letter last week,” Waqa said.

Why is the Coca-Cola Amatil share price pushing higher?
In November, the company revealed that it had entered into a scheme implementation deed with Coca-Cola European Partners for the acquisition of all of the issued shares held by independent shareholders via a scheme of arrangement.
This followed the receipt of an offer of $12.75 per share, less any final dividend paid before the date of implementation of any scheme. This represented a premium of 23% to the undisturbed one-week volume weighted average price at the time. It also valued the company at approximately $9.3 billion.

The
Asaleo Care Ltd(ASX: AHY) share price was on fire this morning, rising 21.78% to $1.23 before being placed in a trading halt. Asaleo shares opened at $1.01 this morning and stayed pretty much at that level until just past 11:00 am.
Then, they shot the moon and rapidly climbed as high as $1.24. At 11:31 am, Asaleo released an announcement to the markets which informed investors that trading would be “temporarily paused pending a further announcement”.
At 12:32 pm, the ASX issued another announcement advising the markets the shares would be “placed in a trading halt at the request of AHY [Asaleo Care], pending it releasing an announcement.” We have not yet received this announcement directly from Asaleo.
