COVID-19 vaccine: Truist Park hosts vaccination event

Truist Park is holding a free vaccination event from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
COBB COUNTY, Ga. - A COVID-19 vaccine at Truist Park also means fans can get 20% off at the Braves Clubhouse Store on Saturday.
The Atlanta Braves announced Northside Hospital and Cobb & Douglas Public Health will be offering free COVID-19 vaccines at Truist Park from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
The Braves encouraged people to pre-register online to guarantee a vaccine.
Fans are eligible for a 20% discount if they present their vaccination card at the Braves Clubhouse Store. Saturday store hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the Braves said some exclusions apply.

COBB COUNTY, GA Cobb County residents will soon have a coronavirus vaccine call center to field questions and help get vaccine appointments.
Cobb board members approved a $2 million contract at the March 9 board meeting using Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act money for the Cobb Emergency Management Agency to establish a COVID-19 vaccination call center and purchase customer support software. The motion was approved in a 4-1 vote.
This contract approval comes just one day after Georgia expanded vaccine eligibility to primary and secondary school staff and faculty, adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and caregivers of children with complex medical conditions.

ATLANTA School district superintendents are hopeful when vaccinations begin for teachers, they will see fewer COVID-19 cases and their employees will be able to teach with a bit less stress.
Elbert County Schools Superintendent Jon Jarvis told 11Alive that is what played out in his district over the past month after 175 of 500 district employees were vaccinated in January when offered the vaccine by a local health care provider.
