One person is dead and the search continues for 12 others after the capsizing of a liftboat in the US Gulf of Mexico earlier this week.
Six people were earlier reported rescued after the liftboat identified in media reports as the Seacor Marine-owned Seacor Power
capsized on Tuesday about eight miles (13 kilometres) south of Port Fourchon, Louisiana.
In an update, the US Coast Guard 8th District said late on Wednesday: The Coast Guard recovered one unresponsive person and continues to search for 12 missing people.

Commercial Boat Capsizes South Of Louisiana, Coast Guard Rescues 6

The United States Coast Guard and multiple good Samaritan vessels rescued six people from a capsized, commercial lift boat 8 miles south of Port Fourchon, La., in the Gulf of Mexico.
Efforts to rescue other potential crewmembers of the 129-foot vessel were ongoing as of 10 p.m. local time, the Coast Guard said in a press release.
Coast Guard spokesman Petty Officer Jonathan Lally told NPR earlier that when initial distress calls were made, there were conflicting reports that additional vessels may also be in trouble.

The U.S. Coast Guard and multiple Good Samaritan vessels rescued six people after a commercial lift boat capsized Tuesday afternoon off Port Fourchon.
A search for multiple people still missing continues 8 miles south of Port Fourchon, Louisiana.
Coast Guard watchstanders received an EPIRB notification at 4:30 p.m. from a 129-foot commercial lift vessel in distress. The watchstanders issued an urgent marine information broadcast, which multiple good Samaritan boatcrews responded to.
The crew of the pre-commissioned Coast Guard Cutter Glenn Harris, a 154-foot Fast Response Cutter, arrived on scene within 30 minutes and rescued one person from the capsized vessel. A 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boatcrew from Coast Guard Station Grand Isle rescued another person and good Samaritan vessels on scene rescued four other people from the water.
