The 120-ton barrel, measuring nearly 70 feet long, was used on the battleship Iowa. It was the last of nine that remained at a storage facility in Chesapeake.
The historic barrel was saved from being scrapped and will honor the USS Iowa veterans that served on the battleship during World War II, the Korean War and the Cold War.
