ComBank among Sri Lanka s 10 Most Admired Companies for 3rd year – The Island

The Commercial Bank of Ceylon was recently named among the‘10 Most Admired Companies in Sri Lanka’ in 2019-20 by the International Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka (ICCSL) in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). The Bank has been ranked among the Top 10 companies in this prestigious list in every one of the three years since the two organisations launched the list in 2018. Commenting on this latest accolade, Commercial Bank Managing Director Mr S. Renganathan said: “Being named among the ten most admired companies in Sri Lanka is a remarkable achievement, especially because admiration is subjective, and like respect, is earned. It means that our unwavering focus on the triple bottom line of People, Planet and Profit is appreciated by stakeholders.”

Sri Lanka : Prime Minister instructs to devise a system for granting house ownerships with a minimum down payment

Dec 14, Colombo: Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa Monday instructed the Urban Development Authority to immediately commence the construction of 7500 houses for the people living in low-income settlements and middle class. The Prime Minister gave this instruction at a discussion held at Temple Trees today with the officials of the Urban Development Authority regarding its projects. Accordingly, the Urban Development Authority has agreed to commence the relevant housing project before the end of this month. Of the 7,500 new homes, 4,000 will be built to resettle people living in low-income settlements, and the remaining 3,000 will be reserved for the middle class.
