Hazard reduction burn in Bouddi National Park
The National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) in conjunction with the Rural Fire Service is planning a hazard reduction burn in Bouddi National Park on Friday 23 April 2021.
NPWS Central Coast Area Manager Steve Atkins said the 8.1-hectare burn will take place between Killcare and Putty Beach.
“The burn is in a strategic location to reduce fuel loads and reduce the risk of wildfire impacting on residential properties in Killcare Heights and Putty Beach Campground infrastructure,” said Mr Atkins.
“There may be smoke impacts for residents in Macdonald Street and Jacqueline Avenue, Killcare Heights. If you are a resident that is vulnerable to smoke, we encourage you to stay indoors and keep doors and windows closed to reduce exposure.
