RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Richmond police say a man in his 20s is dead after being shot Thursday evening.
Officers were called to the 1300 block of Coalter Street for a shooting. When they arrived, Jayvon Coward was found with a gunshot wound.
Coward was taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.
The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.
After officers reported hearing random gunfire in East Richmond, police found two men suffering from gunshot wounds Sunday evening, according to Richmond Police.

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Police say two men were transported to a local hospital on Sunday evening after a shooting in Richmond.
Officers responded to the 1300 block of Coalter Street around 7:50 p.m. after hearing random gunfire. Police say emergency communications also received several calls about random gunfire on Jan. 17.
First responders found two men in the area who had been shot. They were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

RICHMOND, Va. The man shot by a Richmond Police officer on New Year s Eve was charged with multiple crimes, according to a Richmond Police spokesperson.
Officer Ja-Ontay Wilson shot and wounded Orlando J. Carter Jr. on Coalter Street when police said Carter pointed a gun at the officer.
