SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The City of Santa Barbara will revisit proposed changes to the historic Mission Creek Bridge and Mission Canyon Rd. for the first time in three years. The area between the Old Santa Barbara Mission and Rocky Nook Park is arguably one of the most bucolic corridors in Santa Barbara. The crossing is also the subject of fierce debate.
In May of 2018, the Santa Barbara City Council gave the go-ahead to move forward on the Mission Canyon Bridge Project. At the time, more than $1 million in funding was earmarked for design and environmental studies.
