The Coalition of Northern Group (CNG) has planned to stage a protest using the hashtag #BringBackOurBoys to demand the return of abducted pupils of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara in Katsina State.
In a statement signed on Wednesday by CNG spokesperson, Abdulazeez Suleiman the group vowed that the protest will be indefinite until the students are rescued.
He said that the protest will kick off in Katsina, the state capital on Thursday and will then proceed to Daura to register their concerns with President Muhammadu Buhari who is in the town on a weeklong visit.
He lamented that this group cannot keep silent anymore concerning the increasing insecurity in the North.

Also, yesterday, the House of Representatives asked the authorities to urgently implement the Safe Schools Declaration to protect children and their teachers from attacks. x

Northern elders have condemned yesterday’s disruption of peace summit and attack on participants at Arewa House in Kaduna State by some hoodlums believed to be sponsored.
The elders described the action as heartless considering that the summit organised by the Coalition of Northern Group was meant to address the insecurity plaguing the North and fashion out ways of restoring peace in the region.
Noting that the people attacked had converged to deliberate and find workable solution on the growing insecurity in the North, the elders operating under the aegis of Coalition of Northern Elders for Peace and Development wondered why some people would want insecurity to persist in the North.
