(Moline, IL) A child riding a bike who died after being struck by a Moline Police vehicle has been identified as 12-year old Charles W. Hubbard of Moline.
Moline police say the happened just before 3 p.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of 34th Street. Police were originally responding to a disturbance call in the block of 41st Street and 12th Avenue. The child died a a local hospital.
Moline-Coal Valley School District Superintendent, Dr. Rachel Savage published a statement on the district s website:
“On behalf of the entire Moline-Coal Valley School District, I would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family of the young man who passed away yesterday following a traffic accident. The young man was a former student at Wilson Middle School for a short period of time in the fall.
