Former head men’s basketball head coach Murray Garvin filed a lawsuit Friday against South Carolina State University and athletic director Stacy Danley, alleging his team was underfunded and that he was unfairly retained.

Orangeburg, S.C (WIS).- South Carolina State menâs basketball is in the market for a new head coach.
On Monday, SCSU Athletics Director Stacy Danley announced that the school would not renew Murray Garvinâs contract to return to lead the program.
âWe appreciate the years of service Coach Garvin gave to Bulldog basketball,â said Danley in a statement released by the university. âThe dedication to his student-athletes was admirable. I wish Coach Garvin all the best in his future endeavors.â
