Hubert Davis Named UNC MBB Head Coach
After former head coach Roy Williams’ 18 years at the helm for the University of North Carolina men’s basketball program, it took the program less than a week to find a qualified successor.

Fluvanna County High Swim Coach Jason Davis reports that the Fluco boys’ and girl’s swim teams both turned in strong performances at the Class 3 State swim meet and at Region swim meet. The girl’s team had only two competitors at the State meet, but they turned in strong performances. Lauren Davis was runner-up in diving with an overall score of 357.85, which Coach Davis said is a new school record. Abby Fuller competed in two events at the State meet and set new school records in both events. The situation looked a tad bleak Saturday after Ole Miss suffered a discouraging loss to in-state rival Mississippi State, but head coach Kermit Davis’ bunch just kept grinding.
The Rebels had been riding high on a four-game win streak that sparked the team and the fanbase. After the loss to the Bulldogs, however, the Rebels fell to 62nd in the all-important NCAA NET rankings. In order to keep the postseason dream alive, Ole Miss needed to get back to its winning ways but would have to do so on the road against the nation’s No. 24 team.
