The North Dakota Public Service Commission is considering the fate of a proposed carbon dioxide pipeline, but the PSC didn't vote on the matter on Thursday.
Several North Dakota landowners are taking their case to the North Dakota Supreme Court to prevent a carbon dioxide pipeline from entering their lands. The cases of 18 landowners have been condensed into one case.
"If they rupture, they can discharge large amounts of dense CO2 that can suffocate people and kill them or cause permanent damage to them," writes Jim Tjepkema of Minneapolis.
