HONG KONG, March 15, 2021 /PRNewswire/ CNOOC Limited (the Company , SEHK: 00883,NYSE: CEO, TSX: CNU) today announced that Caofeidian 6-4 oilfield has commenced production.
Caofeidian 6-4 oilfield is located in the Midwest of Bohai, with average water depth of about 20 meters. In addition to fully utilizing the existing processing facilities of Nanpu 35-2 oilfield and Qinhuangdao 32-6 oilfield, the project has built a new central platform. A total of 42 development wells are planned, including 30 production wells, 12 water injection wells and water source wells. The project is expected to reach its peak production of approximately 15,000 barrels of crude oil per day in 2023.

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) announced its decision to delist CNOOC Limited next month, effectively erasing one of the most prominent symbols of China s embrace of global capitalism from the world s largest capital market.
CNOOC Limited, a unit of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), would stop trading in New York on March 9 to comply with a November 20 executive order by former US President Donald Trump banning US investment in companies with purported ties to the Chinese military, as the oil company s American depositary shares (ADSs) were no longer suitable for listing, NYSE said.

Discovery well BZ13-2-2 was drilled and completed at a depth of 17,135 feet and encountered oil pay zones with a total thickness of approximately 1,135 feet, CNOOC noted. The well was tested to produce an average of approximately 1,980 barrels of crude oil and 5.25 million cubic feet of natural gas per day, the company highlighted.

The project, which is located in the south central Bohai Sea, is expected to reach its peak production of approximately 11,511 barrels of crude oil per day in 2023, CNOOC outlined. In addition to fully utilizing the existing processing facilities of the Penglai oilfields, the project has built a new wellhead platform, with 58 development wells planned in total, including 38 production wells and 20 water injection wells, CNOOC noted.
