but several hundred of these tickets have been handed out in recent years, and the fines can go as high as $500. wow, that really falls on the parents, too, probably in the end. these kids can t afford these tickets themselves. why not though just give them detention? i mean, when i was a student, that seemed to work. i think you mentioned you hit the nail when you mentioned parents. i think a lot of this is designed to get the parents attention which maybe some students who get detention don t tell their folks, and we have a statement from the dallas independent school district as to why this is done. they are saying the vast majority of our students not disruptive. those who do get tickets are hopefully learning that their actions have consequences, and, you know, this isn t popular at all with our student audience. i ll go ahead and say it. they didn t like this idea, getting tickets, but there were a couple of students who spoke out in favor of it, and the first one was some
underlying theme from them. mary wrote in and tells us, there can be a lot of bad people in the world. but we need to do everything we can to prevent this from happening and we need to increase security at events, this is fwound happen again. bailey mentioning the same issue there needs to be more of it, but taking it deeper we wish we could live in a country where we didn t need security, wish people could be trusted. students say this is a dangerous world but we just wish that this sort of thing wasn t needed, wish we lived in a world where there wasn t a need to worry about stuff like this. politicians are pointing fingers but i m cureups what the students have to say besides security, who do they blame? it s a good question. a couple wrote in to us at cnnstudentnews.com and the heated rhetoric, a couple bring up the issue of gun control. a lot of other students were mainly saying one student used
