GREAT FALLS â Katie Maphies was overjoyed to learn she would be able to get a bachelorâs degree in social work while keeping her job as a hair stylist in Great Falls without needing to move, thanks to a partnership between Great Falls College MSU and the University of Montana in Missoula. âIâm so happy they did this,â she said about the agreement.
Montana on Wednesday added 180 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total active cases to 994.
The state has 105,928 recoveries, 1,567 total deaths and 55 active hospitalizations from the virus.
Cascade County on Wednesday added 22 new COVID-19 cases. The county has 127 active cases and 169 total deaths from the virus. Great Falls Public Schools as of Tuesday reported 12 active cases districtwide. Great Falls High School had nine active cases, and C.M. Russell High School had three.

April 16 was Purple Up Day. While the entire month of April is the Month of the Military Child, Great Falls Public Schools used Friday to celebrate the strength and sacrifices of military families in the community, including students through the district who have active duty parents or other family members.
