Chamoli district administration has started evacuating its government building located in Joshimath after cracks appeared in it. At the same time, PM Modi held a high-level meeting with experts on this issue, after which the central agencies seem to be becoming active. According to the information received so far, the Central Government has deployed one team of NDRF and four teams of SDRF in Joshimath city.
Joshimath Sinking: Big cracks have appeared in the buildings of the complex, around the Lakshmi Narayan temple. Brahmachari Mukundanand, in-charge of Jyotir Math, said that cracks had appeared in the entrance of the math, Lakshmi Narayan temple and auditorium.
Joshimath Landslide News Today: According to local sources, not only Joshimath but the neighbouring town of Auli has also faced the same problem. Although no one was injured in the accident, traffic has been stopped in Auli for safety reasons.
So far, 561 houses in different areas of the town have developed cracks, including 153 in Ravigram, 127 in Gandhinagar, 71 in Manoharbagh, 52 in Singhdhar, 50 in Parsari, 29 in Upper Bazar, 27 in Suneel, 28 in Marwadi and 24 in Lower Bazar, Joshi said.
