CANTON A re-enactment of the wedding of William and Ida McKinley highlights First Friday events on June 4. I Thee Wed, the 150th wedding anniversary re-enactment of the presidential couple will be 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. at Christ Presbyterian Church at 530 Tuscarawas St. W.
Christ Church members Adam and Bonnie Wiggins will portray the betrothed couple. The Rev. Michael Wallace, associate pastor, will portray the Rev. Ebenezer Buckingham, who conducted the ceremony in 1871.
An opening event will be held at 5 p.m. I Thee Wed also includes historic walks to the Stark County Courthouse, Crossroads United Methodist, Canton Repository and National First Ladies Library.
