Today, Wrexham’s MP Sarah Atherton writes… Today Wales will find out the make-up of the Government that runs our healthcare, education, and transport for the next five years. It has been a long campaign, affected by a global pandemic. But this is a watershed moment in our history, this is the first election of the Senedd – which replaced the Assembly – and we have a new regional voting system and a lower voting age. Whilst I wish the incoming Senedd Members and Welsh Government well, the first task of the new Welsh Government must be to produce a roadmap out of the restrictions that continue to exist.

My office and I have also spent a lot of time in the last month dealing with issues experienced by local businesses exporting into the European Union, and I would encourage any businesses in Wrexham that are experiencing difficulties to make contact with me so that I can represent you in conversations with the UK Government.

However, the past few weeks have been more difficult for many residents as we have seen floods and snow on top of the coronavirus pandemic.

From producing face visors to caring for our neighbours, it is safe to say that whilst 2020 has certainly been difficult for many, it has also brought out the very best in us and I am extremely proud to represent this fantastic community.
