The Rotary Club St. Vincent South on Tuesday, October 26, received a donation of EC$10,000 (5,036.00 CAD) from Canadian non-profit group CARI-ON SVG as part their contributions through the club to assist families who were adversely affected by the eruptions of La Soufriere Volcano, the club said in a release. Saturday December 12 was a very special day for over 100 Vincentian children.
The lucky pre-schoolers were honoured guests of Governor General Dame Susan Dougan and the members of the St Vincent Children‘s Welfare Fund Committee, who have partnered with the Rotary Club of St Vincent for over 25 years.
Drawn from 20 pre-shools on the windward side of St Vincent this year, the excited children heard welcome remarks from Her Excellency, followed by current President of the Rotary Club of St Vincent, Annette Mark, who spoke of the continued pleasure which this Annual Project brings.
