At the March 29 meeting of the Rotary Club of Kirksville, Greg Gordon received major donor status, having donated $10,000 to The Rotary Foundation. Rotary uses the money to improve living conditions and health around the world and for various grants, exchanges and scholarships designed to promote peace and better world understanding between cultures. The speaker at the March 29 Rotary Club of Kirksville meeting was Jenne Harding, who spoke about Truman State University’s Children’s Literature Festival to be held on April 21. This event, for children in grades 4-6, will include 11 children’s book authors. Attendance by over 1,400 children is anticipated. On March 22, Rotary Club of Kirksville members were treated to a preview of Curtain Call’s upcoming production of “Murder Room,” a very funny spoof of all crime thrillers. It will be presented on Friday, March 24 and Saturday, March 25 and then again next week from Thursday through Saturday.
