July 15, 2021 548 WOLCOTT John Donet O’Connor, age 85, passed away on July 14, 2021, at home after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Corrine (Moore) O’Connor, with whom he enjoyed 55 years of love and friendship. Mr. O’Connor was born on March 24, 1936, the son of the late Gladys (Finn) O’Connor Burns and James O’Connor, and brother to Bette Jayne (O’Connor) St. Leger. The family quickly moved from New York to Waterbury and grew up in downtown Waterbury, where John eventually graduated from Sacred Heart High School. He attended Concord University, where he played a lot of basketball and attended some classes. He then took his show on the road to Quinnipiac University and received a degree in education. He began his teaching career in Region 16 education as a science teacher. He continued his education at Central Connecticut State College, receiving his sixth-year in administration.
