Meath councillors have voted not to have a train station on lands owned by Shannon Homes at Colpe as part of the new Meath County Developent Plan.
Clr Stephen McKee had signalled the project - insisting he had earmarked a general location close to the railway line.
Instead, a previous proposal by Cllr Sharon Tolan for a train station, which is part of the projected plan, is to be progressed to the NTA who are accepting proposals as part of a consultation process which concludes at the end of January. The NTA would decide on the location and that s one of the issues to be discussed. We are putting in submissions about the new train station to them, Padraig Maguire, Senior Engineer told the special planning meeting.
