The Mayor of Cloverdale has resigned effective immediately. Mayor Jason Turner suddenly turned in his resignation later to the City Council late Monday night. He cited what he called an incredible opportunity in his professional career and needed to resign immediately. Turner told the Press Democrat yesterday that the decision was a difficult one and he also said he needs to make sure he can support his family by maximizing his earning potential.
Vice Mayor Marta Cruz is now acting mayor for Cloverdale. The city council will have to decide whether to hold a special election to replace Turner or appoint a replacement
