State investigates rising COVID-19 outbreaks in Oxford County schools, businesses
The rate of cases is rising in Oxford and Androscoggin counties at schools, workplaces and gathering spots.

Clarissa May Titus Damon was born on May 5, 1926 in Auburn, daughter of Rethwell Springer and Doris Mae Leslie Titus. She grew up and attended elementary school in North Auburn. State health officials reported a daily high of 590 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, breaking the record that had stood for just 24 hours.
There were nine additional deaths as well, adding to what has been by far the deadliest period of the pandemic in Maine.
