The land, covering about 59 acres on Western Avenue, Riddlesden, is currently open space. Riddlesden Golf Club announced in 2016 that it was to close after nearly 90 years in existence, due to declining membership. The Keighley News reported at the time that two greenkeepers and a steward would lose their posts with the closure. Secretary John Dickinson, a former club captain and president who had been a member since 1984, said it was a “very sad” time for the club and to see it close was a “massive blow to everyone”. The former golf course is owned by Bradford Council, which has announced plans to dispose of the land. The site is now used by Scouts as an activity centre and the council plans to hand it over through community asset transfer.
