PARKING: Cllr Peter Whatley at Malvern Link Station QUESTIONS have been raised after the rail company in charge of one of the town’s stations decided to dramatically reduce parking on site. Network Rail’s lease on the overflow car park on the approach to Malvern Link Railway Station expired on April 6, and the operator decided not to renew the lease due to the reduced number of passengers travelling during the pandemic. District councillor Peter Whatley said the decision was hasty, and called for more to be done to encourage the use of public transport. He said: “I’m hugely disappointed that this parking facility has disappeared, apparently without any involvement of the town or county councils. I call upon both councils to ensure that the car park is restored as soon as possible, to avoid travellers parking on nearby residential streets such as Redland and Cromwell Roads.
