Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham visited Greenfield Station this week to add his weight to calls for disabled access and a service every thirty minutes.
Meeting with Oldham Council leader, Cllr Sean Fielding, and local Labour candidates, the Mayor restated his ambition to take control of our trains and train stations, to create a seamless transport network by 2030.
Mr Burnham said: Residents of Saddleworth have waited far too long for the Government to deliver disabled access at Greenfield station – it’s the minimum we should expect.

Infrastructure works have begun at the £35m Hollinwood Junction regeneration project in Oldham to facilitate the newest arrival to the scheme.
Contractor I&H Brown will deliver a £2m package of works to unlock the site previously blighted by a large redundant gas holder.
The infrastructure scheme, comprising two new roundabouts, site entrance road, drainage and associated works will allow the construction of a new drive-through store for Costa Coffee to commence at the site’s first development plot once planning approval has been secured.
