Chippenham councilors met in-person for the first time since March 2020 Chippenham has elected its new mayor and leader at the first face-to-face meeting since last March. Gathering at Neeld Hall, the new Chippenham Town Council elected John Scragg to be mayor for the fourth time in his 34 years as a town councillor. Congratulations were also in order for Cllr Liz Alstrom, who was elected as the deputy mayor for the 2021/22 period. new mayor John Cragg has been on the town council for over 30 years The leader of the council will automatically be known as the chairman of the Strategy and Resources Committee, Cllr Andy Phillips with Cllr Myla Watts as the deputy leader.Cllr Watts will also be known as the vice-chairman of the Strategy and Resources Committee.
