After almost 20 years as a councillor, and having won four elections, topping the poll in two, Councillor Kathleen Codd-Nolan attended her final Enniscorthy Municipal District (EMD) meeting last week. Having announced her retirement last year, Cllr Codd-Nolan has continued to carry out her duties, remaining a strong advocate for the people of the area, but, with just weeks until she formally steps down, her colleagues were keen to pay tribute.
Works on two new pitches, a sensory garden, and a community walking track at Bellefield GAA are nearing completion with further works expected to be done by the summer. Expected to have a transformative effect on the community, this ambitious four-phase project will see investment in new facilities for the wider Enniscorthy area over the coming years.
THERE was a large crowd in attendance in Bunclody Library on Thursday November 30 for the official launch of the songbook ‘O Were I at the Moss House’ by Ballindaggin traditional singer Aileen Lambert.
The Cathaoirleach of Enniscorthy Municipal District, Cllr John O’Rourke hosted a civic reception for a delegation from Blacktown City, a suburb of Sydney Australia, in Enniscorthy Castle on Friday evening, 25th August 2023. The Civic Reception included the signing of a ‘Sister City Agreement’ between Enniscorthy Municipal District and Blacktown City Council - committing each Council to officially recognising both Vinegar Hills in commemoration events as well as a commitment to fostering new connections across the areas of tourism, sport, arts and culture.
Staff of InTuition Vocational Training in Enniscorthy hosted a coffee morning in Kilcannon Garden Centre to tell prospective learners and employers about the educational programme which is run by Reachability and funded by Waterford Wexford Education and Training Board (WWETB).
