A plan to return derelict homes in the Rosslare district back to the market has been described as a “light touch project” by one local councillor. Part of the Rosslare Municipal District (RMD) Strategic Plan, the objective of the scheme is to “identify and assist” vacant or derelict properties the district’s villages. To that end, staff from the RMD have sent a “communication to each of our community groups inviting them to share any information they may have in relation to such properties” with the aim of initiating a “conversation with the property owner on possible solutions (to) bring the property back into active use”.
Wexford County Council has hosted a delegation of six key representatives from the Jiangxi Province in China and has signed a letter of intent for future trade, education, tourism and cultural ties for Wexford and the Chinese province.
