Mary Kier, 108, is given the Covid vaccine at Ffairfach care home Awel Tywi. A 108-year-old Llandeilo care home resident is among the first to have been given the Covid-19 vaccine in west Wales as the roll-out begins across the region. A total of 37 residents at Awel Tywi in Ffairfach received their first dose of the Pfizer-Biontech vaccine as part of a phased roll to care homes, including Mary Keir, a former nurse and the second oldest woman in Wales. Speaking after receiving her vaccine, Mary said: I was really happy to have the vaccine today. We ve been waiting for it to be ready.
