(photo by Chana Projects) ​Conservation work has started to repair the Beacon tower located within Burton Dassett Hills Country Park. The Warwickshire County Council project saw delays after bats were identified to be hibernating inside the tower’s domed roof. The Beacon tower is one of only two historical monuments found in Warwickshire (the other being Chesterton windmill), and since 1952 has been a Grade II listed building. This project will see the tower restored as sympathetically as possible to its original state to preserve it for future generations.

The stress of it can cause sheep to die and pregnant ewes to miscarry their lambs.

Updated Monday, 15th February 2021, 11:32 am A Leamington woman battling alcohol addiction has been helped back on her feet with the support of a community project Helping Hands - boosted by funding from Warwickshire County Council. Helping Hands assists individuals and low-income families through issues such as homelessness, food poverty, domestic abuse, addiction and mental health issues. Volunteers serve warm food, sandwiches, cakes and fruit from their Althorpe Street drop-in centre in Leamington and the Gateway Café, Warwick.
