Former Barrow post office which shut two years ago up for sale

A FORMER post office which shut nearly two years ago is on the market. The former post office in Duke Street, Barrow, is up for sale for £220,000 after closing its doors in July 2019. The post office’s closure was met with backlash, with Barrow Mayor Kevin Hamilton describing it as ‘crazy’. “It’s crazy the store has closed,” said Cllr Hamilton at the time. “I have used the business’ services often and I always saw it to be very busy. “People go there to tax their cars or pay bills, and they often head to the town centre afterwards for something to eat. It will be a huge blow to the town centre.”
