“He was a loving man at home as well. He loved his family and his friends. “He was generally a kind person and he has left a big hole in his family’s life that will never be filled.” Cllr Williams, who had two sons and a daughter, also had a love for animals and had a flock of sheep, racing pigeons and served as a racecourse trainer. He was also known for owning a nightclub in Talywain and a bus company, BA Motors. “If people were out for the evening and they found they were stranded, they would call on Ray and no matter what time of night it was he would go out and pick them up and take them home,” Ms Yeates said.
This year, Noddfa Church partnered with Victory Church in Blaenavon to organise the event. “I’d like to thank Pastor Nick for all the support as it wouldn’t have happened without him,” said Pastor John. “I look forward to continuing this partnership in future years, making this an event for the whole south east valleys, not just Abersychan.
