A NEW competition could see your child s artwork on the side of a council s bin wagon fleet. South Lakeland District Council (SLDC) has launched an exciting new competition this week inviting school children to design inspirational new artwork centred around the climate emergency for the council s bin wagons. The competition brief is to design a poster that will inspire people to take action on the climate emergency and to give a clear and hopeful message of the benefits of a low-carbon world. The winning designs will be emblazoned onto several vehicles from SLDC’s fleet which visits 56,000 homes each week and travels around 17,000 miles around the district.
