Winsford Academy principal Gary Evans says the school has been oversubscribed and can only offer 210 places for year 7 pupils in September CHILDREN have been left devastated after being refused a place at Winsford Academy. Some pupils now face a three-hour bus journey every day to travel to and from a school in Northwich. Incensed parents have lodged appeals and signed a petition calling for urgent action. Winsford town councillors voted unanimously last night to urge The Fallibroome Trust, which runs the academy, to provide more places this September and in future years. Winsford Academy says they are oversubscribed and can only accommodate 210 year 7 pupils.
