Updated Passengers waiting to cross the Solent resulted in congestion near the Red Funnel terminal at Town Quay. TRAFFIC levels have returned to normal in Southampton after a day of chaos caused by issues affecting Red Funnel Ferries. Drivers were hit by long delays in the Town Quay and Ocean Village area yesterday, with problems persisting until the early evening. Shipping congestion in the Channel began to have a knock-on effect in he Southampton area, delaying the docking of a Red Funnel ferry. Employees also had to contend with a medical emergency involving an elderly passenger who suffered a fall.
