Council s Covid plea to Middlewich residents ahead of Christmas

RESIDENTS are being urged to follow the new stricter Covid restrictions over Christmas. Cllr Sam Corcoran, leader of Cheshire East Council is pleading with everyone to observe all safety measures and infection control guidance. Cllr Corcoran said: “The news from the weekend is of significant concern. I would implore all Cheshire East residents to take every precaution over the festive period, rethinking plans, where necessary, to work within the new restrictions and minimise the risk of spreading infection. “It is very sad that many people will not be able to meet up with loved ones as they had initially planned under previous guidance.

A motion proposed by Middlewich representative Jonathan Parry won unanimous support. It said: “We are committed to providing a caring, friendly, tolerant and safe environment for all of our communities so they can participate in positive work, learning, social activity and enjoy a happy retirement. “Bullying of any kind is unacceptable for anyone here in Cheshire East.” Conservative deputy leader Cllr Stewart Gardiner said of the motion: “We all have to be aware of the fact that bullies lurk among us. “The best use a look or a comment.
