In his ward in particular, the Bemerton Heath councillor said it was noted that some residents were only voting for one candidate at the polls last week, when they had the option to vote for three. Looking forward, Cllr Corbin hopes the politically mixed council will mean no decisions or actions are stifled by the majority . He said: We want to make sure all councillors play an active part in decision making, no one is ostracised. We all want to focus on the climate emergency and making positive genuine change for everyone - how we get to that will be interesting but we need to work together to achieve that goal.

Caroline Corbin said she was saddened by deliberate attempts to cause damage to buses and cars on Bemerton Heath . The Bemerton councillor feels parents may be unaware of young people going out to let off steam .
At around 7pm on Monday evening, Salisbury Reds tweeted to say that its R1 service - which goes from Salisbury District Hospital to Bemerton Heath via Salisbury city centre - had been targeted in the Saint Michaels Road area, with windows being smashed by objects thrown at the vehicle .
Richard Gagg, Salisbury Reds operations manager, said nobody was injured, but the decision has again been taken to suspend some stops. Buses are now following a diversion and are not currently stopping at Coronation Rd, Tournament Rd, St Michael’s Rd or Herbert Road.
Increased police presence Richard added: We are reviewing CCTV in a bid to identify the perpetrators, and are being assisted by police - who are increasing their presence in the area. We will reinstate the service as soon as we can. “I would like to apologise for this inconvenience, but the safety of our customers and drivers is paramount.”
