Cllr Anthony Connick followed in his brother Seán’s footsteps when he wore the New Ross council chair’s chains on Wednesday, making history in the process as the first political brothers to hold the top position in the local government role.
The outgoing chairman of New Ross Municipal District council has said the €50m plus in projects being realised for the town and area could only be successful through team work.
Cllr Anthony Connick is set to be named the chairperson of New Ross council for the first time on Wednesday in what could be his last year as a councillor.
New Ross councillors Anthony Connick and Pat Barden are due to join a committee with councillors and officials from Callan-Thomastown Municipal District, to meet and discuss collaboration efforts between the two districts.
