Plans for 122 new flats on Abbey Barn Lane refused PLANS for 122 new flats for people aged 55 and up have been thrown out by the council. Berkeley Homes Ltd has been refused permission to build two separate “age restricted” apartment buildings on part of the Abbey Barn South site, on Abbey Barn Lane, in High Wycombe. The decision was taken during a West Buckinghamshire Area Planning Committee, on Tuesday (April 27). The 1.8-hectare area, which is close to the Daws Hill Lane bridge crossing of the M40, would have comprised 71 one-bed and 51 two-bed flats for use as an Extra Care Facility (for people in need of care) – 122 in total.

A BUCKS councillor who sought permission for a new conservatory which he had already started building has been criticised by a colleague who said he “should know better”. Cllr Tony Lee said he found it “a little bit unsatisfactory” that Cllr Majid Hussain was seeking full planning permission for a single-storey rear conservatory when the structure “appears to be two-thirds built”. The application pertains to a two-storey end terrace on Spearing Road, in High Wycombe, and includes plans for some steps leading to the garden. New EE mast in Frieth sparks backlash for public consultation

The mast will be part of the Home Office-led Emergency Services Network (ESN) A ‘FURORE’ has erupted over plans for a new telecommunications tower which locals have branded “visually intrusive”. EE (UK) Limited is seeking conditional permission to erect a 17.5-metre-high telecoms mast on land north of Bushes Wood and east of Parmoor Lane, in Frieth. The brown “pole type” mast will be part of the Home Office-led Emergency Services Network (ESN) to address “gaps in network coverage”, according to council documents. ESNs are critical communications systems for police, fire and rescue, ambulance services and a range of other users from local authorities to utility services, according to a government website.
