A Fianna Fáil councillor has asked the council to outline the time constraints covering current works under planning permission for a development on Brook Road, Rush, and when works must be completed.
Cllr Brian Dennehy, in a question tabled at a recent Local Area Committee meeting, said he referred specifically to works at the southern end of he site, where a pedestrian pathway from Brook Road has been blocked for several months where works on a hammer head are being carried out.
In its reply, the council stated planning permission was granted for infrastructural and site enabling works including widening of an existing road under F15A/0294.
A Rush councillor has asked the council to review the county s beach facilities to cater for all-round use and not just in the summer season.
Cllr Brian Dennehy asked Fingal County Council to outline any plans in existance or any reviews due to be carried out of our beach facilities in order to captivate the extended period of usage of our beaches from the traditional seasonal period to currently all year round which can be witnessed on a daily basis along the beaches of Fingal .
In response, the council stated: Since the start of the pandemic, with the closure of pools nationally, open water swimming in rivers, lakes and the sea has seen a surge in popularity. There are currently no changing facilities or showering facilities operated by the Council for open swimmers.
A local councillor has welcomed the introduction of an affordable/social housing scheme for Rush as an opportunity for those struggling to get on the property ladder to own their own home.
The proposed development, at Old Road, Hayestown, Rush is to consist of 62 housing units, comprised of 17 2-bedroom units and 45 3 bedroom units.
The development consists of 80% affordable housing and 20% social housing.
The development is subject to a service site application being granted, with the council reporting an indication the scheme will be positively received.
Fingal County Council has initiated procedures pursuant to Part XI of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act 2000 - 2015 and Part VIII of the Local Government Planning and Development Regulations 2001 - 2015 in relation to the proposed development.
