Limerick s Live 95 Search By Live95 News Team Limerick people shouldn t be expected to foot the bill for a council led energy upgrade scheme. That s according to Sinn Fein Cllr Sharon Benson after some Limerick people experienced increases of up to 400 euro in their heating bills after a new system was installed in their home. Limerick City and County Council say that while the scheme overall is working well, they do acknowledge some other operational issues and they are currently being dealt with. Cllr Benson says some people have since turned their heating off to avoid a costly bill coming through their letterbox.

Ninety-four of those are located in the city and 61 of those are derelict, needing detailed work and a larger budget . Limerick Council last year introduced a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) system in an effort to streamline the delivery of void units.  Cllr Sharon Benson raised the question at the latest full meeting of the council and says these figures are scanadalous.   A further breakdown of the figures show there are 11 vacant houses in Adare-Rathkeale,
