Councillor says public will not be too chuffed to pick up £682,000 bill to fix Porth Eiriasâs roof
The beach at Porth Eirias A councillor is “puzzled” as to why tax payers must cough up more than £682,000 to fix a leaky roof on a county council’s “jewel in the crown” development. Cllr Andrew Wood (Gele ward) said the public will “not be too chuffed” they are being asked to pick up the bill for fixing Porth Eirias’s roof, which has leaked almost since it opened in September 2013. Councillors at Conwy county council’s finance and resource scrutiny committee were discussing this and other business cases for the draft capital budget on Monday.
