Councillor hits back after being accused of flouting Covid rules

By Aran Dhillon, Local Democracy Reporter Cllr Geoff Fellows A BOROUGH councillor says accusations of him flouting coronavirus rules are inaccurate. In a post on the Penketh FACT Checker Facebook group, it was claimed Cllr Geoff Fellows (IND – Penketh and Cuerdley) ‘blatantly flouted’ the rules. It added: “Hunting down a stranger to her home to give her some flowers without knowing her name, address or advising of his visit. “This sort of behaviour is not acceptable but there is no formal party to report it to. “This is selfish and irresponsible behaviour in an attempt to electioneer. Local councillors are not above the law.”
