A PUBLIC art project, a community play and an audio trail are among the cultural activities planned for Poole High Street, thanks to an £80,000 grant. The town is one of more than 60 in the UK to secure a share of the £6 million, through the programme led by Historic England in partnership with Arts Council England and the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Councillor Mohan Iyengar, BCP Council portfolio holder for culture said: “The cultural programme aims to make our high streets more attractive and engaging places for people to live, work and spend time. Poole’s programme will focus on sharing the stories of the town and its trade links with Newfoundland, Canada, says BCP Council.
